I am looking forward to great year with my new class of third graders. We have 18 students in our classroom now so we are full.
This will be a year for learning, repeating, learning again, and repeating strategies. These strategies are very useful for both Reading and Math as well as other subjects.
This is the beginning of twenty seven years of teaching for me. I graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon, TX. I received my Master's Degree in Reading from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Odessa, Tx.I taught Pre-K and Kindergarten in Monahans for eight years. Next, my husband and I married and moved to Odessa. I taught one year of Reading Resource and six years of third grade at the year round school in Odessa. Our next move was to Presidio on the border. There I taught first grade for four years. We wanted to be a bit closer to family so we moved to Colorado City.
Every year I get just as excited as the year before. I am looking forward to the blessings that I know will be bestowed upon me this year from my little students.
In my spare time I love to read magazines and shop. The public library here in Colorado City is one of my favorite places. Books are fascinating to me and I collect children's books. Another thing I have found that I truly enjoy is working in retail during the holidays, summers, etc. I love being around people and helping them. |
