My name is Kitten Arthur, and it is my privilege to serve as principal of Hutchinson Elementary.

I am celebrating my 32nd year in public education this year, and this is my 5th year at Hutchinson Elementary, "Where Everyone Counts." I graduated from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, with a degree in English, Health, and Physical Education and certified in secondary education. Later, I received my Master of Education in Supervision of Instruction from Abilene Christian University and for seven years served our district as the Curriculum Facilitator. I received my mid-management certification from Abilene Christian University as well.

Our philosophy at Hutchinson reflects our motto: everyone does indeed count at our school. We believe in teaching character education traits that will mirror our philosophy, including respect, perseverance, citizenship, caring, compassion, truthfulness, and trustworthiness. Additionally, we value parent input, parent volunteerism, and parent participation in your child's education.

Our mission at Hutchinson is to "prepare our students for personal and academic success. We will provide a safe, supportive environment conducive to learning and a progressive curriculum to ensure high student achievement." We believe in progressive educational techniques, including the use of technology and hands-on learning in the classroom. Additionally, we offer a full range curriculum which includes PE, computers, music, library, and pre-band for all 5th graders.
