This will be my 15th year as an educator. I spent six years as a 2nd Grade teacher and five years teaching Title 1. For those 11 years, I had the pleasure of working at Tye Elementary school. I'm looking forward to my fourth year in 4th Grade at Hutchinson Elementary. I'm really excited that we are departmentalizing and that I will be teaching the subject I love to teach the most--READING! | |

Where I come from |
I was born and raised in Michigan, but have chosen to live in Texas for the past 17 years. (It's TOO cold up there in the winter, and the winter lasts FOREVER!) I'm an official transplanted Yankee. My vocabulary has been adapted to include "Y'all" and "Coke" instead of "You guys" and "Pop".
I graduated from Alcona High School a little more than 20 years ago, (YIKES!) and from Central Michigan University (as did former Cowboy quarterback Gary Hogeboom and TLC's Trading Spaces carpenter, Carter Oosterhouse!) in May of 1991. |

I am married to the most wonderful husband in the world who also happens to be Colorado High School's awesome Band Director! I have two great stepsons. We are so blessed to have both of them living with us this year! Landon is a Sophomore at CHS and Lance is a Freshman. | |

The latest joy in my life! |
I've been blessed with a wonderful niece. I'm sad that she lives so far away from me, but I've enjoyed two recent visits with her and am looking forward to seeing her over the holidays! (She's quite a bit bigger now but I'm still waiting for her Mom to send me new pics!)
I really enjoyed my time with her this past summer! She is the smartest 2 year old in the world! (Not that I'm biased or anything!!) |

Atlantic Ocean June 2008 |
Yes, you read that right. I was on both coasts in the same month. I got to travel with the Pride of Wolf Country CHS Marching Band to Disney World in FL. We took an evening to go to Cocoa Beach, FL to experience the Atlantic Ocean. It was a bit windy there! ;-) |
