Seventh Grade Science:
This course is an integrated science course in which the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) as well as TAKS objectives are taught. These give students opportunities to become familiar with all courses of study. The course also offers opportunities for all learning styles to succeed. There are many hands-on activities, visual aids, a good balance of process and skill development. Also many opportunities will be provided to make connections with other curricula such as Math, Reading, Language Arts, History, and the Arts.

3-ring 2-inch binder
Dividers
Pouch to hold pencils, pens
Folder with pockets and brads
Pencils/Pens
Paper
Spiral Notebook (one subject)
Students will maintain a notebook in which notes from class, reviews for exams, exams, labs, and products will be kept. A science journal will be kept in a spiral notebook.
Grading Procedures:
Class Work 40%
Exams 20%
Labs 20%
Products 10%
Notebook 10%
Classroom Expectations:
Classroom expectations and consequences are stated in a handout that students received the first day of class. Parents and students are asked to sign the plan that stated they understood these expectations and consequences. (A copy is available upon request.)
