Art: Students will learn the basics of drawing, shading with pencils, colored pencils and charcole. Students will experience painting with water color and acrylic paints. Claly projects will include slab, coil, sculpture, molds and glazing techniques. Students will do personal portraits as well as veterans. Art history will be covered with the UIL Art paintings (40 artist and paintings), computer generated art and digital camera photography. Other fun projects include scratch art (cards usually sent to soldiers at Christmas), papier mache, and crafts. Students will learn to enjoy art, work on self confidence, express themselves, be creative and be able to recognize various styles and artist. Fire Prevention poster contest as well as various other contest will be offered to students.
Students art work will be displayed around campus in the cafeteria, library, as well as the class room.
PALS: The Goals for PALS include:
-Learn to be a good role model and responsible leader
-Being a good role model for Kelley and CMS students
-Assist with EMS fund raisers
-Assist teachers with various projects on CMS campus
-Participate in the Fire Prevention Poster Contest
-Participate in designing a cover for the new CMS CD
-Participating in the Red Ribbon Week
-Assist with the Real History Real Heroes Program
-Our primary goal is to become better citizens, students and to assist the Kelley and Head Start students and teachers through out the year.
CPR/Health
The primary purpose of this course is to teach students about the importance of good health habits. Students will learn how drugs, tobacco and alcohol will affect the body over a period of time. Students will also learn 24 bone, 14 muscles, and gain much information on the heart, brain, and lungs relationship. They will learn to do CPR on adults, infant and child. They will also be using a trainer AED. The MCEMS will also be available to show students the ambulance, equipment and discuss the education needed for future job opportunities.
