Parents often ask what guidelines do I use for choosing "Student of the Week". First of all, I let the students vote on their peers for this award. When it is our class' turn to vote for "Student of the Week", we come up with what we will be looking for in that person. This year our class came up with the following criteria:
1. NICE and RESPECTFUL to EVERYONE (not just their group of friends, but everyone they come in contact with)
2. Attend school regularly except when sick and not tardy.
3. Is responsible in many ways such as turning in homework on time, not in trouble in class, taking care of business, etc.
4. Is FAIR with others on the playground and in the classroom.
5. Has nothing to do with grades, but rather character! |
