WELCOME TO ENGLISH IV
2008-2009


I hope all of you had a great relaxing summer vacation and re-charged your tired brains. I created this packet to help you be successful in the classroom, however, I feel the basic guidelines can certainly apply to any class and most any situation. I realize this does not cover all aspects of the class. More helpful notes will come as they become pertinent to the instruction and projects.
We will cover a variety of literature in this class but the focus is on British Literature and Language. We will also explore the wonderful world of writing and grammar. I realize many of you may turn your noses up at this statement, but it is not only an important part of this class, but a much needed skill in communicating in life.
Enough with the chatter. I wish all of you good luck in your studies this year. If you need help, please ask. I am not an 8-4 teacher. I will be in school by 7:00 am most days and will usually stay after 4:00. If you need help during times of panic before a paper is due the next day, feel free to call me at home. My number is 728-8921. My wife’s name is Dana and she will be glad to take a message if I am away from the telephone.
