CLASSROOM PROCEDURES
ENGLISH IV
1. Entering the classroom
When you enter the classroom, go directly to your assigned seat. Begin working on the assignment on the board or overhead. This will be counted as a daily grade.
2. Assignments
Assignments will vary. Some assignments may require reading, note taking and essay writing while other assignments may only require reading. In addition, research on the Internet will be necessary in some aspects of the class. This will usually be done on your own time; before or after school. Please make sure you have returned the internet permission form. This is very important---many of your assignments will need to be retrieved from my web site. Due dates for continuing assignments will be posted on the website calendar.
3. Submitting assignments
Homework assignments are due by 3:30 on the assigned day. Students involved in extracurricular activities such as band football etc. must obtain assignments before the day/days you are going to miss and turn in work that is due before leaving on the trip to receive full credit. If the assignments are not available, the students will be allotted the same time to complete assignments as the other class members. There is no such thing as a “late” assignment. If it is late, you receive a zero. Period.
4. Make-up work
It is your responsibility to obtain make-up work from me before or after school. In some cases, when time permits, these assignments may be given during class.
