Welcome:
Welcome to Science!! I am very excited about this year and hope that you will enjoy all that I have planned. I look forward to getting to know each of you and working with you to make this year the very best!!!
Classroom Expectations:
• Come to class prepared to LEARN
• Bring all supplies and materials to class
• Be respectful and courteous to others
• Attitude is a little thing that makes a BIG difference, so bring your positive attitude!!
Classroom Procedures:
• Entering Class/Warm ups
When you come into class you will need to get your composition notebook from the bookshelf and begin on the journal assignment for that day.
• Asking questions/making comments
If you would like to ask a question or make a comment please make sure that no one else is speaking at that time. Please make sure that questions and comments are directed towards class topics.
• Movement in Classroom
I do not mind if you need to get up and sharpen your pencil or throw trash away, please just make sure it is not while I am talking or lecturing. ***Do not ask to go to the bathroom while I am talking or lecturing.
• Dismissing Class
Remain in your seat until I dismiss you.
• Finishing work early
Remain in your seat. You may work on school related assignments.
Classroom Policies:
• Make-up Work
Students will be given one day for each day absent to complete and turn in make-up work. Students will be expected to make-up major grades within four calendar days and will receive a zero for any assignments and tests not made up within the allotted time, unless prior agreements have been made.
• Late Work
For late assignments that are not considered make-up work, the following penalties apply:
-10 for first day
-20 for second day
-30 for third day
0 for fourth day
**** I will NOT accept major projects late, if there is a problem please come and see me before the due date.
• Extra Credit
Extra credit opportunities will be available to students periodically during the year.
• Food and Drinks
There will be no food or drinks allowed in the classroom. Bottled water will be allowed. There will be certain days that I will allow students to bring in food or drinks and those will be announced the class period before the day.
